Free Tax Return Preparation for Qualifying Taxpayers
“For hard-working New Yorkers struggling to make ends meet for their families, receiving the full potential of a tax refund is crucial.”
“The Financial Clinic is proud to offer one of the largest VITA tax preparation programs in New York City, offering free tax preparation to thousands of families each year with sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Many of these families are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit, receiving on average more than $2,000, and now more than ever, we seek to ensure they receive the full amount they deserve.”
“In addition, our financial coaches and tax preparers help low-income New Yorkers maximize their savings at tax time by navigating available resources such as myRA retirement accounts and 529 college savings accounts.”
– Haidee Cabusora, Chief Program Officer, The Financial Clinic

Make an impact this tax season, volunteer for a VITA site!
The Clinic is seeking volunteer tax preparers to work at least one 4 hour shift per week at our locations around the city. Though previous tax experience is certainly desirable, we encourage applications from anyone with a desire to learn and a commitment to helping low- to moderate-income tax filers. Fluency in Spanish or Mandarin is beneficial. Please reach out to Marlene Uraga, VITA Program Manager, at muraga@thefinancialclinicorg to discuss current volunteer opportunities.
