Assistant Director of Partnership Management
Megan Kursik joined The Financial Clinic in April 2017 as the Assistant Director of Partnership Management. She works to expand the Clinic’s impact through engaging partners in Clinic services, including Capacity Building, the Financial Security Ecosystem, and Change Machine, an online learning, peer sharing and data tracking platform for financial coaches.
Prior to joining the Clinic, Megan served in multiple roles at the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan (CEDAM). In her most recent position, as Manager of Financial Empowerment Initiatives, Megan oversaw all training and capacity building assistance for CEDAM members implementing financial capability programs. She also created Show Me the Money Day, a statewide tax time kickoff event reaching more than 2,000 Michigan residents annually. While at CEDAM she played in instrumental role in launching the City of Lansing’s Office of Financial Empowerment, as well as two universal, automatic child savings programs in Barry County and Lansing.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Relations and Policy, with specializations in Science, Technology, Environment and Public Policy and Political Economy from James Madison College at Michigan State University. While in college she competed on the Michigan State Varsity Women’s Rowing team, winning two Big Ten Championships. She currently resides in Detroit, MI.
