Assistant Director of National Programs
Luke Crumbaker joined The Financial Clinic in June 2020 as the Assistant Director of National Programs. In his role, Luke will manage the Clinic’s virtual financial coaching program to make sure delivery is efficient for the customers who need it. Luke comes from a program/project management background, and also has experience in financial coaching.
Luke joined the nonprofit sector as an AmeriCorps VISTA member and gave a year of service to United Way of Greenville County. In this work, he managed a diverse group of partners as well as the design and development of a new cloud database to keep the data in an easily accessible and readable form.
During this time, he worked closely with many of the financial stability partners and became passionate about the impact that financial coaching delivered. When Greenville County was awarded a grant to establish a new financial counseling program, he changed positions to lead the launch of the Greenville Financial Empowerment Centers program as the Program Manager. Luke took on a caseload of clients himself and realized the real potential of judgment-free financial coaching to facilitate behavior change and real impact in the daily lives of clients.
Luke holds a BA in Philosophy from Furman University. In his free time, Luke loves to camp and canoe in the Blue Ridge Mountains with his wife and dogs and is also an avid guitar player.
