Laura Malecky joined The Financial Clinic in December 2015 as the Partnership Associate for the online financial coaching platform Change Machine.
In this capacity, Laura is the point person for external organizations that are interested in the Clinic’s financial security building strategies. If an organization wants to build their financial capabilities work, she speaks with them to gain a stronger understanding of their mission and vision and helps them to figure out which of the Clinic’s services or resources will be the best match.
Although the majority of her time is spent supporting organizations through Change Machine, Laura enjoys collaborating across the Clinic’s lanes to see how their work, such as Capacity Building, can support growth at other organizations.
She will also be traveling a great deal in the coming months to participate in conferences and panels — she can’t wait to see the Clinic’s partners and affiliates showcase their best work — be sure to stop by and say hello if you see her!
Prior to the Clinic, Laura was responsible for scaling the Account Management team at Hometeam, a healthcare start-up based in NYC. Hometeam is focused on providing exceptional senior home care, and she enjoyed working with caregivers and families directly to deliver the mission. She also previously dabbled in non-profit life, working with several non-profits in Western Massachusetts, such as Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture and Mason Square Farmers’ Market.
Laura holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the Study of Women and Gender and History from Smith College.
