Erica joined The Financial Clinic in September 2014 as a Financial Coach for three HomeBase sites in Brooklyn. In 2016, she worked as the Implementation Lead on the WorkBOOST NYC initiative, where she collaborated with six workforce development organizations across New York City, helping them integrate financial security strategies into their existing programs.
She currently works on the national FinancialWorks project, in partnership with UnidosUS, working closely with partners across the nation to sustainably integrate financial security strategies across a myriad of program structures and sectors.
Erica has a breadth of financial development research experience, most notably working on randomized controlled studies in Mexico with El Colegio de Tlaxcala, the U.S. Financial Diaries with New York University, and the Center for International Policy (CIPS) at Fordham University. During her time abroad, she also worked as a teacher’s assistant of a Microeconomic Theory course, where she fell in love with teaching and continues to teach Spanish language courses of all levels in her free time.
A first generation Mexican-American, she has long been engaged in community and economic development projects both in her native state of Arizona and abroad. Erica holds a B.A. in Economics from Fordham University with a concentration in Development Economics.
