Erica Davis joined The Financial Clinic in December 2017 as Partnership Associate, sourcing and managing clients for the Clinic’s renowned services while maintaining client rapport and serving as a “Welcome Committee” for new Change Machine clients. She brings creativity, passion for empowerment, knowledge, leadership, and vast experience in nonprofits and building partnerships. Her skills and expertise encompass program management, group facilitation, fundraising and social entrepreneurship.
Erica has worked for such renowned organizations as charter school management organization, Green Dot Public Schools, as a Human Capital Associate and Credentials Analyst; fundraising experts Ruffalo Noel Levitz as a Program Center Manager; The Los Angeles Job Corps as an Accountability Specialist; and most notably, City Year Los Angeles as a Corps Member in 2008-2009, where she held the positions of Program Coordinator for the City Heroes Program and Camp City Year Operations Director. She accumulated in-kind donations totaling over $2,000 for a Spring Break camp hosting low-income student from the South Los Angeles area, built programs from the ground up in several prominent Los Angeles communities, and created change in communities across the nation under various organizations, accruing donations of clothing, computers, food and funds to uplift and empower families and students. Erica also piloted a self-designed youth development program entitled “Heroes to the Core,” which was implemented in Muizenburg, South Africa and consisted of facilitating 30 Grade 2 students through conversations of finding their “inner hero.”
Erica hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Black Studies from The College of Wooster in 2008. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and obtained a Master of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship & Change from Pepperdine University in 2014. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with youth, learning about superheroes, writing fictional novels, reading and traveling the world. Erica has also had the opportunity to participate in every discipline of the arts through attending a performing arts school for nine years and travel as far as Cape Town, South Africa to ride elephants, walk with lions and swim with sharks.
