Director of Human Resources and Culture
Daniel Baptiste joined The Financial Clinic in May 2020 as the Director of Human Resources and Culture. He came to the Clinic, primarily with a Training/Development and Organizational Culture building background in HR Shared Services, and will be responsible for providing strategic oversight over the Clinic’s Employee Lifecycle Management and HR Operations through the lens of Organizational Culture, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
Daniel’s previous experience includes 6 years at the Research Foundation of CUNY, working as a vendor for numerous city agencies, including DOITT, DOE, NYCHA and TLC; 5 years at New York University and less than a year at Breaking Ground, all operating in a Training/Development and Talent Acquisition scope. While these roles did not directly tie to financial coaching, they allowed him to work in spaces where education, city government and housing were at the forefront – these spaces in particular, are critical pieces to the financial security and freedom puzzle that he believes The Financial Clinic is looking to put together, and he is looking forward to being a part of that social impact.
Daniel received his BA in Forensic Psychology from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice and his MS in HR Management with a concentration in Organizational Effectiveness from the NYU School of Professional Studies and hopes to be SHRM SCP certified before the end of 2020.
Daniel is a first-generation American, born from parents that immigrated over from Trinidad & Tobago and a life-long native of Brooklyn, NY – He loves the Knicks, playing basketball, walking (up to 20 miles in a single day) and lives in Sunset Park Brooklyn with his wife and 3 dogs.
